Published by Redazione on

Quality Games announces that it has signed a publishing contract for the new edition of the famous roleplaying game Lex Arcana, created by Dario De Toffoli, Leo Colovini, Marco Maggi and Francesco Nepitello

Lex Arcana will return to gaming tables in the coming months. The revised and renewed edition will be produced with the original authors under the supervision and coordination of Andrea Angiolino, Creative Director of Quality Games.

The new edition‘s aim, according to Angiolino, is “to present a title perfectly suited to today’s players, whatever their age, without losing the timeless charm and authorial uniqueness of the first version, further strengthening these traits through the quarter-century of experience of each team members.”

Lex Arcana also marks Quality Games’ return to publishing. Quality Games is an Italian publisher mainly focused on the creation of board and roleplaying games. In the ’90s it launched several games distributed in Italy and abroad. Its founders and collaborators are all authors, publishers, editors and, above all, players and game lovers, with decades of experience in all aspects of the Italian and international gaming world.

The team of authors revisiting Lex Arcana in these weeks is highly respected.

Dario De Toffoli, a real doyen of the Italian gaming world, has been working for decades in the creation of games, the writing of essays on gaming, the organization of international quality events, and in popularizing the hobby at all levels. Dario has founded and coordinates the Italian Game Archive, the documentation centre of the gaming culture in our country.

Leo Colovini, authored Inkognito with Alex Radolph, a title that made the 1988 Spiel des Jahres list and won the Sonderpreis – the jury’s special prize. Since then Leo has published numerous games, many of which – including the most recent Leo muss zum Friseur – have been nominated and awarded in leading international awards.

Marco Maggi and Francesco Nepitello have worked together for most of their gaming career. They are among the most acclaimed Italian game designers and can move successfully from board games to roleplaying and miniature games. Their creations include board games such as War of the Ring and Hunt for the Ring, based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and published worldwide in more than ten languages. Other successful titles are Marvel Heroes and Age of Conan. They have recently created The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth, roleplaying adaptations of Tolkien’s world to the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons.

Andrea Angiolino has published books on gaming, as well as roleplaying and board games translated in twenty languages, including the well-known Wings of Glory. He creates games for promotional and training purposes, puzzles, gaming themed exhibitions, television and radio game shows. The Ministry of Education has named him “expert inventor of games”. He tells stories of games on Wikiradio (Rai Radio Tre).

Quality Games’ activities are not limited to Lex Arcana. The publisher is selecting more titles to add to its catalogue and is drawing up the release schedule.
